Shop Fabricator

Essential Functions: 

• Fabricates and assembles structural products, such as frameworks or shells for parts for buildings according to job order, verbal instructions, and/or blueprints
• Fabricates composite material, break metal/materials
• Locates and marks bending and cutting lines onto workpiece
• Sets up and operates fabricating machines, such as hand tools, power tools, and drill presses
• Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications, using square, ruler, and measuring tape 
• Loads and unloads materials received and materials to be delivered 
• May fabricate and assemble sheet metal products 
• May set up and operate machine tools associated with fabricating shops, such as radial drill press, end mill, and edge planer
• May be responsible for operating forklift
• May be responsible for operating in-house crane and power cup
• Responsibilities include maintaining shop and equipment used in shop processes

Non-Essential Functions:

• Attends periodic staff meetings and training sessions;

• Complies with dress code, proper paperwork procedures, safety policies prompt follow-up communications and departmental policies.

Requirements Competencies and Qualifications:

• 3+ year’s Fabrication experience in glass/commercial construction preferred. 
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills 
• Understanding of structural basics such as welding, erection and reinforcements is critical
• Ability to read blueprint drawings
• Knowledge of glass construction methods and materials
• Willingness to work with team to accomplish organizational goals; results oriented 
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of OSHA & has OSHA-10 certification 
• The physical demands of this job require candidate to be able to lift 50 pounds and have good balance, agility, vision and depth perception.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

This position reports to the Production Manager
